Recharge
AI-enhanced productivity tools for async remote teams.
The problem
Async teams lose hours every week to status meetings, scattered updates and context that never makes it across time zones. Remote work promised flexibility, but many companies simply moved their meetings online and added more chat channels. People spend more time catching up than doing deep work, and important decisions get lost in threads that nobody has time to read.
Why now
Remote and hybrid work have become standard for many companies, but collaboration practices have lagged behind. Teams adopted dozens of tools, creating more fragmentation rather than less. Language models can now summarise complex activity across tools accurately, making automated briefings genuinely useful for the first time. Companies are also more aware of the hidden cost of meetings and the value of focused time. Recharge arrived when the problem was widely felt, the technology was ready and leaders were actively seeking ways to work more efficiently.
The founders
Sara Nilsson managed engineering teams across nine time zones at a software company and spent her mornings reconstructing what had happened overnight. Kwame Mensah built productivity tools and believed that most meetings existed only because information was hard to find. They started Recharge after replacing their own team’s daily standup with an automated briefing and discovering that nobody missed the meeting.
Why we invested
Juno backed Recharge because the product replaced meetings people already disliked instead of adding another tool to check. It connected to existing work tools, summarised progress, blockers and decisions, and delivered a concise briefing tailored to each person’s role. Early customers cancelled recurring status meetings within weeks. Juno saw a product with clear, measurable value and founders who had lived the problem every day.
How we helped
After investing, we helped Recharge find early customers among distributed companies in our portfolio and network. Juno worked with the founders on positioning around time saved, which made the value easy to communicate to buyers. Our platform team supported security reviews and integrations with popular project management tools, accelerating adoption across larger organisations.
Where they are now
Recharge now writes the daily briefings for thousands of distributed teams, and its customers report reclaiming a meeting-free day every week. Managers use it to spot blockers earlier, while individual contributors enjoy more uninterrupted time for focused work. The company recently launched decision logs that make it easy to understand why choices were made months later. Sara still reads her own team’s briefing every morning before opening any other app. In a world of endless notifications, the team measures success by how much quieter its customers’ calendars become.
